HOW IT WORKS
One savings habit. Three ways to use it.
Choose your role and see how Ashiri turns daily thrift into records, credit signals, and better financial access.
- 01
Your coordinator joins Ashiri
Your thrift collector signs up and creates your group's digital profile. You don't need to do anything yet.
- 02
You're added to the group
Your coordinator adds you by name and phone number. You receive a WhatsApp confirmation that your digital savings record has been created.
- 03
Your deposits are logged daily
Every time you pay your daily ajo, your coordinator logs it in real time. You get a WhatsApp receipt within seconds.
- 04
Your savings history builds your score
After 90 days of consistent saving, Ashiri generates your credit score — a number that reflects your financial discipline.
- 05
Your score unlocks financial access
Use your credit score to apply for a loan, shop on instalment from the Ashiri marketplace, or share it with a bank of your choice.
GLOSSARY
Key terms explained
A few local and product terms you may see across the Ashiri platform.
- Ajo
- A Yoruba word for a rotating or daily savings group. Members contribute a fixed amount regularly, managed by a coordinator.
- Alajo
- Yoruba for the person who collects and manages ajo savings — also called a thrift collector or coordinator.
- Thrift Collector
- The informal financial intermediary who collects daily savings from market traders and manages group records. Ashiri's primary user.
- Credit Score
- A numerical summary of how reliably a person manages money. Ashiri builds this from real savings behaviour — not bank account history.
